STEPH'S TOP 10 MUST HAVES TO GET THROUGH HER RUNS
Can you find all 10 here...they are hidding in the background I promise
10) Garmin - No matter what verison you have a Garmin is a must have. I pretty much don't leave home without my Garmin, seriously what Type-A Runner do you take me for. Once, I was doing software updates so I had to leave this guy at home and I did really miss him especially when I thought my time was crazy speedy but could not be sure. But as Aaron says when I told him my time, "no offense but it does not matter." Eeekkk it kind of matters to me, why? I told you TYPE A, All the Way! Click on the Garmin to go to the product site!9) BondiBand - These BondiBands are like headbands for runners. They are soft and comfortable and soak up all the sweat while keeping it out of your eyes and face. It also keeps those little hairs from flying in your face, clear bonus! I recently received one to review from BondiBands and will be giving away another one soon. Mine says "Will Run for Icecream." My giveaway one says 'Will Run for Wine"
8) Sillyband Runner Dude - Thats right I run with this little white silly band that when you take off becomes a runner. I never leave home without it really. I got him at the BostonExpo at the MCM table (I am running MCM in October, my first marathon). This guy keeps me accountable and sometimes, "like the pros," I snap him against my wrist, to keep me in the moment!
7) Shotblocks - For the long runs, this is where its at. I love these things. But admittedly, I am a two-year old and they need to be cut up for me - they are too big! I actually like the Tropical ("the blue ones") the best and yes with the caffeine. It is a great boost during those long runs. Click on these to get your own jolt of energy!
6) Running Shirt - I have a bunch of different running shirts. But this is my new favorite. Mat over at BreakMark made this one for me. Read my review of it here. Mainly it is totally amazing. Mat will design these shirts for you (and yes they are dri-fit) with printing on both front and back. The dye is weightless so you don't feel it/it does not add extra weight while you are running. Mat works tirelessly to get you what you want plus he is offering these shirts to us for just $25 including shipping (this is a special price just for my readers so tell him I sent you!)
5) Balego Running Socks - Ok, it is no secret that I have trouble finding the right shoes for me, but did you know once upon a time socks were an issue oto. Check out this post Well, that is until I was introduced to Balego Socks. With these on my feet, I do not slide in my shoes or grip with my toes for dear life. They are light and dri-fit but don't slide on the bottom. I love these things! Click on Mr.Sock to buy your own!
4) Running Shorts: I have lately fallen head over heels with the shorts I am wearing above. They are NorthFace. They have a little zipper pocket in the back which are a little slice of heaven and a built in pocket in the innerlining of the front for keys. I love these! They are light and airy. Can't say enough about them.
3) iPod Shuffle: If I am not running in a group, I need my iPod to run. Once upon a time, I did not have a shuffle.
Check out the Arm Band action here.
This resulted in a mess of me trying to use the arm band pouch to place my iPod in. It was cumbersome and ridiculous to try and control. Then I went and "lost" my iPod and we were "forced" to buy me a new one. In comes the Shuffle. Oooo how I love this iPod. Apple did not advertise it enough, this is the runner's dream iPod. The controls are on the headphone wires and it is so tiny and fits right into your shorts. Some people clip it, I put it in my zipper pocket. This thing was made for me. And yes, mine is pink!!! Click on the iPod to buy one of your own!
1) An Aaron - Sorry this one can't be bought. But I won't leave home without him whether being my crew for a race or rollerblading along side me, he gives me everything I need to get through my runs.
